Check out my experience at the 25Hours Hotel in Vienna here. Find out all about the hotel and even discover tips on the city's main cafes!
Viena Austria It's always been on my travel wishlist. In addition to being a city with a constant presence in the lists of the best places in the world to live today, the capital is an open-air museum, full of history and incredible places to visit. When I went there I stayed at 25hours Hotel, and in this post you can check the review of my stay.
Em vienna sights it's not missing. The city is home to fantastic monuments and palaces such as the Schönbrunn Palace, from which Leopoldina Carolina Josefa Francisca Fernanda of Habsburg-Lorraine, who later became Maria Leopoldina, Empress of España, came from, as well as parks, cafes and nice shops.
For those who are a fan of hotels and restaurants like me, Vienna is a full plate to be tasted, calmly, preferably. //
I took advantage of a long weekend to get to know the city and stay at 25hours Hotel – one of the coolest hotels in Vienna. I stayed three nights and left wanting to stay longer!

O 25hours Vienna Museums Quartier Hotel
The 25hours Viene Museums Quartier is inspiring, funny, comfortable, cozy, lively and at the same time manages to be able to cater to travelers who want comfort and tranquility.
The location is strategic, as is every detail – from the rug to the glass, through the service, decoration and rooftop bar (the trendiest bar in Vienna).
I know a lot of boutique and five-star hotels, but certainly the 25hours Vienna Museums District It's the most creative I've ever been.
If you are looking for where to stay in Vienna and/or you like design and hospitality, this post is for you.
Let's break it down to make it easier to read?!
Where to stay in Vienna – Hotel 25hours Viene Museums Quartier
Check in no Hotel 25hours
I arrived at the hotel in the late afternoon. I was already surprised outside when I saw the sign we are all mad here – we are all crazy here – on the top of the building and come as you are – come as you are.
Facing the automatic entrance door is a rug that says hello stranger and a wall of old Polaroids that play flashing flashes. In other words, a curious and almost cinematic entry with many flashes. Grand entrée worthy of a pop star!
If the first impression is the last one… On the exit mat the saying goodbye friend. who goes to 25Hours Hotel, one goes in and another goes out.
five star balcony
In the entrance lobby is the reception, a small shop with a variety of products, a pinball machine and hundreds of other details that mix design and storytelling and are an invitation to stay there, on the delicious mission of discovering and having fun.
Check-in is done by a young, multicultural team that speaks good English and provides basic hotel information inside a kind of cage. Prison is thinking that a hotel cannot dare.
The elevators that lead to the rooms, the gym and the rooftop are also cages.
Save yourself (and come) who can!

Bedrooms do 25hours Hotel
An accommodation that makes you smile! I entered room 517 and came across a circus themed room. I love!
Every corner of the room and the hotel is creative and ends up activating our imagination. High-end inspiration. I loved every detail.
The room has a soft double bed with pillows with cute embroidered sayings, a desk with lamps, a 42" flat screen TV, bathroom, safe, mini bar, an open ranger that works as an open closet, a spacious balcony with a table and a good view of the city, as well as items such as a yoga mat (trendy) and a hula hoop (unusual).
Interesting room details:
- A bag that is available to the guest during the stay
- The natural amenities that make a water-saving manifesto
- The box mat with the phrase naked & famous
- The door notice full of humor with funny phrases
- Fun, comfortable, functional and creative
That unique and more than special tip
Room 517 is not bookable over the internet. The hotel has 217 rooms and some of them are only available to regular customers, lucky ones with upgrades and first-time sailors who know about this detail and request this room via email or through requests and requests from the Booking.com during the booking process.
I was surprised by the number and category of rooms (there are six accommodation categories). Despite a lot of people staying and non-guests coming in and out who frequent the bar and restaurant, the hotel manages to maintain the atmosphere and atmosphere of discretion and personalization – essential ingredients of boutique hotels.

Gym and Spa – The Mermaid's Cave
I confess that I was looking for a hotel with a spa and gym because I was already planning to eat a lot of sweets and chocolates in the cafes in Vienna. At the end of the post you will discover the most traditional and delicious coffee shops in the city.
Well, the hotel offers the Mermaid's Cave in the basement (Carvena da Sereia), lol. That's what they call the space with a gym, spa with sauna and steam room, showers and space for indoor and outdoor relaxation decorated with a beautiful and colorful mosaic in the shape of a mermaid.
The gym is small, but functional, and the facilities on site are great, clean, modern and quiet. Excellent place/request for morning exercises and relaxation at the end of the day.
Various teas are served in the space. The only thing missing was the love pool!
The basement opening hours are flexible and normally open 24 hours. For you to enjoy at any time. “A night and a half becoming a mermaid…!”
O Rooftop Bar – O Attic Bar
The hotel's rooftop bar – called Attic bar It is a meeting point for young people from the city and tourists looking for a nice place to have a drink, or two, or three…
Great drinks at very reasonable prices in a relaxed and youthful atmosphere with a wow view of Vienna? What more do you want?
The bar is super busy every night. During the weekends and/or on specific days the bar has special parties and becomes a kind of lounge/club.
In the drinks menu – everything you can imagine – from several special gin and tonics and whiskeys, through beers, wines and non-alcoholic drinks.
Surprised me at the bar:
- The price: honest and much more affordable than I imagined. I paid 6,50 euros for the Aperol Spritz. Compared to the prices charged at hotels in Paris, Switzerland… this value is great!
- The View: from outside and from the tables next to the windows, you can admire Vienna's beautiful buildings and monuments. To toast and breathe, from above!
- A Crowd: I found the mix of ages, styles and nationalities of the people passing by the bar to be cool. Whoever says that Vienna is not a cosmopolitan city…surely hasn't been to this hotel. Just take the elevator to the eighth floor of the 25hours Hotel to meet people from all corners. (Surprisingly, the Brazilian clientele is not that common there… They are missing out!)
Breakfast and restaurant
Breakfast is served in the 25hours Hotel's main restaurant called 1500foodmarkers. Natural juices, different types of bread (I loved the Austrian breads) and cold cuts are served at a buffet in the middle of the restaurant.
There are four large stalls filled with food and drinks. Yogurt, fruit, eggs, salmon, etc. – as well as Austrian specialties such as sausages (too good! Hail Mary!) and cakes are also part of the gastronomic orgy.
You can choose hot drinks (espresso, cappuccino, chocolate, latte) as you wish. There is also a self-service station with special teas.
The space is beautiful and surprising like everything else in the hotel. Even the napkin is different and thought to be a surprise. The table paper with the words good morning sunshine takes a smile from even those who had to jump out of bed, without wanting to get up, not to miss breakfast – which, by the way, is served until 10:30 am.
Overnight, 1500foodmarkers transforms into a popular restaurant for locals and guests who enjoy contemporary Mediterranean fare.
Playing with the numbers, the hotel offers a 12% discount for those who order in the restaurant and eat in their room. A kind of take-away inside the hotel. You can order over the phone and then pick it up at the restaurant on the ground floor.
I tried a leek pizza with bacon accompanied by an Austrian wine for about 14 euros. Comfort food in a comfort room, who speaks?! LOL
Other facilities and curiosities
- During the warmer months (July and August, normally) the hotel opens a Food Truck in the hotel's green area. They serve hamburgers, quick snacks and local beers.
- The hotel offers bicycle rental and you can even borrow a car for a few hours and drive around the city without paying any additional fees.
- At the bike rack, fun phrases like put fun between your legs, put fun between your legs, and weight watches would be proud of you, weight watchers would be proud of you. Is it or isn't it another way to please and make customers smile?
- The hotel offers transfers to and from the airport, but it is important to check availability and prices in advance.
- Yoga team. The hotel offers yoga classes 3 times a week. Unfortunately I couldn't do it, but I found this extra service great.
- Hotel 25hours Viene Museums Quartier is part of the 25hours Hotels chain that was created in Germany. Today the chain has hotels in several cities such as Hamburg, Munich, Zurich, Berlin… They have already announced the opening of new hotels in Dubai, Paris and other cities. Expansion in partnership with the giant Accor.
- The Hotel 25hours Viene Museums Quartier has the seal and is part of the incredible portfolio of Design Hotels™. To be part of this group, hotels are evaluated on various points such as originality, culture, design, etc. 25hours is truly unique and it makes perfect sense to be categorized as one of the best and most innovative boutique & design hotels in the world.
- The hotel has a corporate event space in the basement that can be booked in advance, for an extra fee, of course.
- The hotel offers paid parking within walking distance of the hotel. The daily rate for a car is 29 euros. It is recommended to check availability and other details with reception staff prior to arrival.

diccas from vienna – Tour of the city’s coffee shops
Our columnist Bruna Nastas made a super complete post with unmissable tips for you to enjoy the city on your trip to Viena Austria, It is worth checking!
I took a tour of the coffee shops and I highly recommend you to try Vienna's delicious pies, coffees and chocolates. My recommendations are further down, read on to find out!
cafe sperl
It's a classic from Vienna. It was created in 1880 and has always been a meeting point for architects, artists, musicians and politicians. It seems difficult to imagine the artistic class living in the same place as agents of the army and power in tense periods such as during wars... but this melange was happening here.
Today the Sperl café is still frequented by these groups, as well as being a favorite place for writers. Among some of the films shot here: A Dangerous Method (A Dangerous Method, with Keira Knightley) and Before Sunrise (Before dawn, with Ethan Hawke). The actors and actresses who are playing at Theater Wien (almost next to the cafe) are also on Sperl! Star coffee!
Cafe Sacher
There you can discover and try the most famous chocolate pie in the world since 1832: the Sacher-pie!
This dessert served the court of Prince Metternich and since its creation is considered the most classic dessert in Austria.
It was born by chance. The court chef fell ill and his assistant Franz Sacher had to make do in his 30s to create a dessert for the monarchs. It hit the nail on the head, pleased everyone and went down in history!
The recipe is very secret and since then the sweet has become a tradition and a kind of symbol here. Where? It's everywhere and everywhere… but it's only here at the Hotel Sacher, at the Café Sacher, that we can find the real-official one! And I'll tell you: it's really good!
Café Central:
Another classic must-go in Vienna. The café is located inside the Ferstel Palace and is a scandal of beauty. It was opened in 1876, being one of the oldest in Vienna. In the halls of this Palais, receptions and parties of powerful Jews and the court took place (and still do sometimes!).
There I had a light lunch with mushroom and pea soup at the start, and as main a veau with a special purée with a touch of grenadine and orange chips! Wonderful! To close: that espresso coffee with chocolate and hazelnut! Everything delicious!
Demel
Anyone who wants to take a tour of the most classic coffee shops in Vienna needs to include Demel in the itinerary! Demel was the pastry shop known as the court official of Vienna and to this day carries that “title”. It is almost next to the main Habsburg palace.
The pastry shop was adored by some of the country's most famous monarchs, such as Franz Joseph I and the famous Empress Elisabeth, better known as Sisi. The hot chocolate and the anne-tarte are the flagships of the house, too good, and the reputation of being the best hot chocolate in the world… I understand! The windows and the kitchen are something to eat with your eyes! A classic, a must!
