But finding cheap parking near Plaça Catalunya or Plaça España is challenging, even naive. Parking meters are priced by the hour, and paying by the hour will result in exorbitant costs. Most travel feedback from Barcelona favours parking in covered car parks, protected by surveillance cameras and secured. Please note that you should never park irregularly in Barcelona - nor exceed your time slot by even a few minutes - as the municipal pound is on the lookout. If you find a fluorescent triangle stuck on the road where your car was, it means that it has been taken on board... You have to be very careful.

To find a car park in Barcelona outside, it is necessary to know that the places are materialized by a color code in blue and green. The blue zone, paying for everyone from Monday to Friday from 9 to 14 hours and from 16 to 20 hours and also on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays near the beach or the city centre. Outside these hours, parking is free: read carefully the indications on the parking meters.
The green zone, open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., corresponds to the 22 parking zones reserved for residents of each district, their rate is reduced: 1 € per week. Please note: non-residents pay more and can only park there for a maximum of two hours.
