Parking in Alicante: Parking on the street for a fee
It is possible to park on the street in Alicante for a fee. However, this is not the best solution: you are limited to 2 hours of parking and even only one hour in the residential area (Orange zone).
For paid parking, spaces are indicated by blue lines. You can park in these areas from 9am to 2pm and from 4pm to 8pm from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 2pm on Saturday. The prices for parking in the blue zone are 0.60 cents for the first hour and 1.80€ for the second. Beyond that time, you will have to move your car.
Cheap parking in Alicante: parking on the street for free
If you don't want to pay for parking in Alicante, a second option is to park your car outside the paid parking areas and then take public transport to the city centre. Free spaces are indicated by white lines. However, these free spaces are rare, especially when they are close to the city centre. They are well known and popular with locals, who occupy them in the morning.

Cheap parking in Alicante: parking in public pay car parks
To park in Alicante as close to the centre as possible, without risking a scratch on the bodywork or theft, the best solution is to choose a paying public car park. The prices are reasonable for parking in Alicante in paid parking. You pay by the minute: count between 1 and 2€ per hour on average. Moreover, these car parks are open 24 hours a day and are guarded.
Parking in a car park in the city centre
We recommend that you avoid the open car park at Renfe station. This is the most expensive car park in Alicante. It is located near the train station.
The cheapest car park is on Avenida Alfonso el Sabio. It is an underground car park that occupies the entire area near the avenue. However, because of its price and location, it is often full during the day or in the summer season.
For this reason, we recommend that you park in Alicante in the two car parks in the port. They are generally less busy in summer and winter. You are therefore more likely to find a place to park. The first is just a short walk from the Hotel Melia and the second is close to the Panoramis shopping centre, on the other side of the port.
