One of the best ways to enjoy a ski season in the Andes Mountains is to stay at snowy valley. Valle Nevado, despite being mistaken as a city in Chile, is actually a complex with a ski resort and hotels – called Valle Nevado Ski Resort.
If you want to spend days skiing, plan your trip to stay inside the resort. There are also accommodation options in the surroundings, but you will need to pay a ski-pass and arrange a means of transport that can take you to the Valle Nevado station. Mountain roads require a more experienced driver to drive on ice!

Where to stay in Valle Nevado:
Within the complex, it is possible to choose between three hotels of different categories, or to rent an apartment. These are the best options for where to stay in Valle Nevado. In addition, the complex also has a market, restaurants, bars, and stores for renting equipment and winter clothes.
The hotels in Valle Nevado are only open in the winter months, as is the ski resort. So plan your trip between June and September. The period varies each year, so it's always good to stay tuned.

Best Hotels Where to stay in Valle Nevado

Those who go skiing in Valle Nevado will find all the necessary infrastructure to enjoy the winter season in complex of resort. The complex has three hotels of different categories: Three tips, Puerta del Sol e snowy valley, in addition to apartments for rent.
If you stay at one of the three hotels in the complex, you are entitled to a ski pass for the period of your stay, meaning you can move around the ski and snowboarding slopes at your leisure after check-in. There are also private or group lessons offered at the Ski and Snowboard School, at an extra cost.

All hotels have a heating system (heater), restaurants, a children's area, and a store for renting clothes and sports equipment. The resort offers Wi-Fi for guests, although the connection is unstable (you have to constantly reconnect the network).
The daily rate includes half board (breakfast and dinner at the hotel) and free access to the leisure options offered – gym, spa and fitness center with sauna, heated pool, cinema, library and kids zone. All are common access to guests of any of the hotels, but some of the activities are paid separately.

Three Points Hotel ($)
What's worth: Double, triple or quadruple rooms for group skiers.
O Three Point Hotels is a 3-star accommodation, which has more than 90 rooms that accommodate up to four people. It is very suitable for large groups of family or friends, as it offers structure for more people.
This hotel houses the Restaurante Sur, with a la carte Chilean cuisine, and the Pub Tres Puntas, on the top floor. With parties and happy hours every night, the space is air-conditioned and has tables, a stage, billiards, live music and karaoke for guests to enjoy.
The hotel's reception is open 24 hours a day, with concierge service. Pay attention only to the opening hours of the access road to Valle Nevado.
Daily rates for couples around R$ 1500 and for groups of 4 people around R$ 2500, with half board, ski pass and parking.*
Hotel Puerta del Sol ($$)
What's worth: Puerta del Sol is comfortable and has a more complete structure.
O Hotel Puerta del Sol is the 4 star lodging in Valle Nevado and where I stayed during my trip. There is the Ski School and shops for renting snow equipment and clothes. It also offers half board for its guests, with breakfast and dinner.
It is the largest hotel in the complex, with 124 accommodations, and one of the main ones for those looking for a place to stay in Valle Nevado. The rooms are spacious, equipped with heating and have a balcony overlooking the ski slopes or the mountains. Some rooms are connected to each other – ideal for families to sleep closer together.
Most of the resort's attractions are located in this hotel, including the terrace where the heated outdoor pool is located, a DJ area and drinks that roll during the “après ski” (happy hour after skiing), ideal for a moment of rest after a day in the snow. The common areas include, in addition to the swimming pool, the cinema, the kids zone, a library, the Mirador del Plomo restaurant and the Puerta del Sol Bar.
Rates for a couple between R$2900 and R$4000, with half board, ski pass and parking.*
Hotel Valle Nevado ($$$)
What's worth: The most luxurious hotel in the complex, Valle Nevado offers a complete structure with direct access to the ski slopes.
O Hotel Valle Nevedo it is the most expensive and luxurious option in the resort. Considered five stars, it has 53 apartments with double rooms and suites, in addition to offering a ski-in/ski-out scheme (where the guest has direct access from the hotel to the snow slopes).
It is in this building where the Spa, Fitness Center (gym) and the restaurant La Fourchette, serving French food, are located. It has direct access to the Valle Lounge and the pool terrace where the après-ski parties take place, with a beautiful view of the sunset over the Cordillera.
Those staying at this hotel can move freely through all areas of the complex, in addition to having access to the ski slopes with a ski pass. This hotel offers full board, with the exception of check-in and check-out days, when lunch is not served.

Other options for where to stay in Valle Nevado
Apartments in Valle Nevado
In Valle Nevado there are apartments for rent that are a good option of where to stay in Valle Nevado cheaper. All are equipped with kitchen, heater, bed and bath linen and parking. They are also entitled to some hotel services, such as the kids zone. They do not have food included, but there is a small supermarket nearby.
Detail: the prices in this minimarket are very expensive. I recommend shopping in town before arriving.
Apartment rentals do not include the ski pass or access to exclusive hotel areas. Tickets for the ski slopes can be purchased for an additional fee at the time of booking (made through the Valle Nevado website). Accommodations can accommodate two to eight people.
Some apartment options are: Valle Nevado Apartamento Ski In Out, with prices around R $ 2.200 for 5 people, or the Apartment Valle Nevado, with daily rates around BRL 1.800 for up to 8 people.
O Condors Building 1 Valle Nevado can also be a good choice, with daily BRL 1.800 for up to 7 people, besides the Valle Nevado Chile Apart, with a value around BRL 1.200 for up to 4 people.

Valle Nevado surroundings – Where to stay in Farellones
In the Andes region there are also other ski resorts with several hotel options. La Parva, El Colorado and Farellones are some of the stations nearby, the latter being a village with great options for where to stay in Valle Nevado (or close to it).
It can be a great opportunity to save money, as stays are cheaper than those available inside Valle Nevado Ski Resort. Another advantage is the proximity to other slopes, for those who want to know other stations.
O Hotel Chalet Valluga ($$$) is a great option. It is located in Farellones and offers transfers to nearby ski resorts. The rooms are small, but have a heater, hot tub and a balcony with mountain views. The daily rate starts from R$ 1400*, with half board, parking and complimentary cheese and wine at the end of the day.
Chalet-style, the Hill of the Wind ($$) is another good choice. It is located 20 minutes away from Valle Nevado. The place has central heating, terrace, hot tub, games room, gym, and free Wi-Fi. Rates from R$ 950* with half board and parking.
Another option could be the Hostal Cordillera ($), cheaper accommodation in Farellones. Overlooking the mountains, the hostel offers a continental breakfast and free WiFi. It is close to other ski resorts in the region. Daily from R$ 460* with breakfast.
