When to go to Ushuaia
High season
Summer
the high season in Ushuaia is in summer (from November to March), when most tourists arrive to discover Tierra del Fuego. This is due to several reasons such as: it is the hottest season with an average temperature of 10ºC, the sunny days are longer, the chances of blizzard decrease and cruise ships and flights face fewer weather-related obstacles.

Winter
As most places live off ecotourism, many activities take place on the archipelago only in Ushuaia's winter – from June to August. Since the weather conditions help and also encourage tourism throughout the year.

Ushuaia in January
January is one of Peak months to visit Ushuaia. In addition to the summer holidays in the southern hemisphere, Ushuaia has milder temperatures (average of 10º C, but can reach 20º C) and very long days – dusk at 22 pm. However, it is windy at that time. It's a great time to go hiking and spot wild animals.

February is also one of the months of the busiest season in Ushuaia. Temperatures are milder (average 10°C, but can reach 20°C) and the days are still long – getting dark around 22pm. However, it is windy at that time. It is a good time to enjoy nature, trekking and boat trips or 4×4.

Ushuaia in March
Ushuaia in March is a good option, since the end of the month is the beginning of the mid-season. It's not as crowded as it is in the summer vacation months, nor as cold as it is in the winter. However, it is still a little windy there. Temperatures at night are around 0°C to 6°C and in the morning they are around 5°C to 10°C.

July is the coldest month to visit the archipelago. The good news about visiting Ushuaia in winter is that temperatures rarely go below -5º C, but the days do not have so many hours of light (up to 7 hours a day). It's a great time to go skiing, snowboarding and seeing the Aurora Australis.
