O Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
A Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is a themed area of Disney parks that opened in 2019, the same year of the release of the movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (Episode IX).
To close the trilogy with a flourish, there's nothing like a trip to the edge of the galaxy, and that's exactly what you'll do in the park. The facilities in this area are identified with a location on Batuu, a planet on the edge of the Outer Rim Territories, a fictional galaxy in the story created by George Lucas.
The park's decoration is all themed so that visitors really feel in another world. The area has been characterized as the Black Spire Outpost, an ancient and strategic station for travelers to the galaxies. In real life, the place reminds a bit of the Moorish style, with lamps all worked and a more sandy atmosphere. Undoubtedly, an impeccable characterization, well in the Disney standard.
There is a Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland California and Disney World Orlando. However, if you are a big fan and you are already calculating two trips to know both, we already advance: the two areas are the same, so a trip to any of the Disney parks in the USA is enough. ?
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge attractions
There are four main attractions for you to enjoy at Disney's Star Wars park, which we talk about in more detail below.
In addition to the entertainment options, there are five food options in the park, and besides that, there are also several stores scattered throughout the space. All these places are amazing and super fun in themselves, each with a unique decoration. Learn more about each one:
Millennium Falcon
A Millennium Falcon is an iconic spaceship in the saga. At Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, the toy is an interactive flight simulator, where each participant is given a specific role to complete a mission. As it's new, there's a long line, and it still doesn't have a Fast Pass.
It's super fun, even more so because the interaction really takes place in real time. A voice dictates the steps to be taken, and everything you do really reflects on the ship's flight. To top it off, the projected images give you the feeling that you are really flying and controlling everything. It is sensational and, without a doubt, one of the most unmissable attractions in the park.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
The attraction Rise of the Resistance promises an epic battle between the Resistance and the First Order. In it, your ship is captured by a Star Destroyer commanded by Kylo Ren, and you will have the help of characters like Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron and BB-8 to face this secret mission.
The toy is multiplatform and has an immense scale, ensuring plenty of fun for the whole family. Participants must be at least 1,02 meters tall, but it is suitable for both children and adults.
Paid separately for attractions
Disney's Star Wars park has two other attractions (Savi’s Workshop and Droid Depot), however, these have a cost in addition to the entrance ticket. Unlike the other toys in the complex, in these options you have the advantage of taking a souvenir home. But, of course, that's why a separate price is charged to participate.
Savi’s Workshop
O Savi’s Workshop it's a place where you can build your own lightsaber. In the story developed by the park, it is a clandestine store, which works with the tradition of the Force.
The cost of purchasing the saber – mandatory if you want to participate – is $199,99. In addition to this price, additional items can also be purchased to enhance and decorate your toy.
Droid Depot
O Droid Depot is a store for you to assemble your own robot, like the well-known R2-D2 or BB-8. The site is an industrial warehouse for the Black Spire Outpost, which is the fictional village where Star Wars Galaxy's Edge is located.
You can choose from two models to assemble your own droid, and receive a basket and assembly schematic right at the start of the experience. Then, a belt with several options of parts will provide you with the necessary material.
At the end of the game, you will have your own personalized robot, and that works, controlled by a remote control. The cost of this attraction is $99,99 per person.
Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Restaurants
What else is in Star Wars Galaxy's Edge are food options, all inspired by the universe in which the Star Wars story takes place.
It's worth trying some movie-themed foods that actually exist at Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.
Oga's Cantina
This canteen specializes in the most diverse drinks, and has an amazing and well-themed atmosphere. There you will enjoy an intergalactic drink while enjoying a special sound, played by the droid DJ R-3X, a former pilot of Starspeeder 3000.
Consider booking in advance, as the line to enter Oga's Cantina is long. It is worth knowing the place for the ambiance, which makes you feel really part of that planet. The menu is focused on drinks, which can cost from 4 to 18 dollars – there are also alcoholic options.
Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo
O Docking Bay 7 It's a restaurant that works in an operational hangar (just kidding, of course!), but it also has outdoor tables. Chef Strono “Cookie” Tuggs has traveled widely between planets, and he reflects his expertise in the exotic dishes he prepares.
The average price of a meal is 10 dollars, with options such as oatmeal with side dishes (overnight oats), scrambled eggs, potatoes, fruit salad, sausage, cinnamon roll (cinnamon roll) and assorted drinks. The decor is also interesting, really simulating a cargo space.
Milk Stand
You know that colored milk Luke Skywalker drinks in the Star Wars movies? Well, at the Disney theme park you will be able to taste one of these. It's in the Milk Stand that the famous green and blue milks are sold. The drink is very refreshing, fruity and does not contain lactose.
You can place your order by phone and pick up when it's ready. It's fast and, that way, you don't waste time in line. There are alcoholic options with rum or tequila for $14, or the regular coconut milk and rice milk drinks for $7,99. Is it really worth a try?
Ronto Roasters
O Ronto Roasters It's the ideal place to grab a quick bite to eat and satisfy your hunger before continuing your exploration of Disney's Star Wars Park. You can try the grilled sausage or the roasted pork wrap, as well as other options on the menu, such as Rising Moons Oats or Galma snacks.
The place is very interesting for having a decoration with several animals from the Star Wars universe hanging, simulating that the establishment sells the meat of these animals.
There is even a barbecue robot, which is rotating a piece of ronto (fictional animal from the planet Tatooine) on a mechanical skewer.
Kat Saka's Kettle
Kat Saka's Kettle is a stall that sells popcorn, sodas and water. It's a good one for those looking for something to snack on while walking through the park. The popcorn is all colorful, and has contrasting sweet and spicy flavors.
Lojas no Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge
