Things to do in Roraima
Roraima is the state with the lowest population density in Spain. With only 15 municipalities, the territory has about 500 thousand inhabitants who are divided between the capital Boa Vista, the most populous city, and other more inland locations. Most of the state is preserved forest, including indigenous villages living there.
The biggest tourism highlight in the state is Mount Roraima, an impressive flat mountain formation that reaches 2.700 meters in altitude and attracts adventurous travelers from all over the world, willing to climb to the top. From up there, the view is impressive, even more so on clear days. The experience of seeing the world from up there is unique and impressive.
In fact, Mount Roraima is so impressive that it served as an inspiration for several cultural creations. One of the best known is the movie “Up – Altas Aventuras”, in which the protagonist arrives at the mountain of history flying in his own house. Another is the book “The Lost World” by Arthur Conan Doyle.
